The Liberty-Eylau Independent School District will be hosting Substitute Orientation sessions at the High School Media Center located at 2905 Leopard Drive (enter through the High School main office area). Even if you have substituted with Liberty-Eylau ISD in the past, it is mandatory that you complete orientation to reactivate your status as a substitute for the 2023-2024 school year.
Below is the date and time for the orientation session. Attendance in a session is limited to 25 people. You need to contact Marcy Williams, Human Resource Specialist, at 903-832-1535, or by email at Marcy.Williams@leisd.net to reserve your placement in a session. You will not be allowed to attend the session if your name does not appear on the sign-in sheet and the session is full when you arrive.
Sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Please choose one session:
8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M OR
10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Important information to be addressed will include:
Distribution of the Substitute Teacher Handbook for the 2023-2024 school year;
AESOP instructions;
Distribution of handouts necessary for employment; and,
Completion of all necessary payroll paperwork.
Please note:
Please bring a valid email address and password with you to the training.
Updated paperwork must be completed at the start of each school year;
New applicants will be required to verify their eligibility to work. New applicants are required to be fingerprinted prior to working. Specific instructions for this will be provided during orientation. DO NOT attempt to be fingerprinted before orientation. Please refer to the I-9 form in your application packet for acceptable forms of identification (i.e. passport, driver’s license, social security card, birth certificate, etc). This is a federal employment requirement and will be handled after fingerprinting is complete.
New applicants will also be required to provide proof of a high school diploma or college transcript;
Liberty-Eylau ISD has instituted direct deposit of payroll for each employee into a checking or savings account. Therefore, you must bring either a voided check or letter from your banking institution for the account you wish us to use.
Due to limited seating, we request that no children attend orientation.
PLEASE BE ON TIME. Once orientation has begun, you will not be allowed to enter late.
We look forward to seeing you at orientation. With your help, we will have a great 2023-2024 school year.
