Why should you be interested in substitute teaching?
*Substituting is flexible – you work when you want!
*It is an opportunity to get a variety of experiences.
Liberty Eylau ISD and the Liberty Eylau Board of Trustees believe substitutes serve an important role in our total school program. The presence of the substitute teacher must ensure a continuous program of quality instruction for all children.
If you are interested in substituting, please pick up an application packet at the Administration Building, 2901 Leopard Drive Texarkana, TX 75501 or you may print the packet.
Important information to be addressed will include:
Distribution of the Substitute Teacher Handbook for the 2018-2019 school year
Distribution of handouts necessary for employment
Completion of all necessary payroll paperwork
Please bring a valid email address and password with you to the training.
Updated paperwork must be completed at the start of each school year;
New applicants will be required to verify their eligibility to work. New employees are required to be fingerprinted prior to working. Specific instructions for this will be provided during orientation. DO NOT attempt to be fingerprinted before orientation. Please refer to the I-9 form in your application packet for acceptable forms of identification (i.e. passport, driver’s license, social security card, birth certificate, etc). This is a federal employment requirement and will be handled after fingerprinting is complete.
New applicants will also be required to provide proof of a high school diploma or college transcript;
Liberty-Eylau ISD has instituted direct deposit of payroll for each employee into a checking or savings account. Therefore, you must bring either a voided check, savings account card, or letter from your banking institution for the account you wish us to use.
Due to limited seating, we request that children not attend orientation.
PLEASE BE ON TIME. Once the orientation has begun, you will not be allowed to enter late.
We look forward to seeing you at orientation. With your help, we will have a great 2019-2020 school year.
